Healing at 5 frames per second

So here is a little insite into my life, I guess I am just a glutton for punishment, I pug a ton of heroics/raids ect... and until recently I was playing WoW on my poor little laptop. An average night in naxx I would see anything from 5-15 fps, tried to do one 25 man raid (naxx) and was running 2.1 fps.. glad it failed early :-). So today I managed to get some money together and pick up a new monitor for my desktop, and got WoW hooked up and running GREAT! Was having a blast and a guildy asked me to heal OK so I wanted to see what my pc was capable of so went. Was running a little over 50fps most of the run until the 2nd boss..... Half way through the fight my video card decided to die, I immediatly dropped to 5fps and stayed there the rest of the run. So much fun healing people at 5fps I think everyone need's to try it. So managed to get ahold of my uncle picked up a new video card off of him, ATI 4350 1gig ram, installing it right now hopefully I will finally be able to play WoW in real time and not thinking whats going to happen in 5 seconds.

Gear Score?

So for a long time I was obsessed with gear score, uber leet gear, and getting gear out the arse. This went against every philosophy of my guild and they always kept reminding me that gear doesnt make the player, player makes the gear. Now I dont think im bad with my shammy in dps or heals but I had a revilation last night, got into a PuG for HoL as healer.... yay, we were one dps short and the group leader wouldnt invite a mage due to a low gear score (low figrativly speaking for refrence his gear score was 1500). Mage did really good, our DK dps couldnt figure out a whirl wind to save his ass, he did die a lot but he was a good sport about it. Tank did a good job, the uber elite gear score obsessed leader was only pulling 1400dps.. Then we get to loken and everything goes bad, they think they are uber dps and opt to just stay in for his lightning nova, now I should have been able to heal through his nova but for some reason I just couldnt heal through it. 2 wipes later we do it the old fashion way and clear it and leave.

A lot of lead up I know, but a few day's ago I was running dps in a guild HoL run to help a guildy and awsome guy/player gear up to be ready for naxx, he was healing never had a single problem never had a single death. Everything went flawless and except for a malestrom weapon chain heal or 2 on loken (which is never out of the ordinary) he did a phinominal job healing, mostly in blues/greens. So this was a really good culture shock to me to not worry about gear, gear score and just focus on players abilitys...

In my honost opinion gear score is the worst thing ever invented...

Shammys + PvP dont mix

So was logging in today and some how or another we managed to get into a 5v5 guild group going, myself, 3 pallys and a rogue. Most of us have ran arena with each other before and we all knew our respective classes really well. I have come to one conclusion in PvP if the rogue is stealthed and you have dog's following you run... fast.... they are coming for you, I got burned down before I could blink 90% of the time, needless to say after 10 losses im really not looking foward to another 5v5.

Background

Well a little about myself and my shammy, came back into WoW after a really long break to find that I had no love for my mage anymore (R.I.P. Mals) but did have a level 19 shammy sitting there doing nothing. After some debate I logged into him and a really lucky run in with my old guild leader I managed to get back into my old guild. Then the fun started had nothing to do buy play some WoW so I went nuts leveling and hit 80 quick, just about 2 weeks to get there. So now I am stuck with shammy and can't seem to play much anything else.
